Family Travel: Our Routine(ish) When Traveling with a Toddler
Reading Time:< 1minute
In this post we share a rough outline of how we organize our time day-over-day when we travel with a toddler.
As children thrive on routine and structure, this overall plan allows us to be adventurous but also be mindful that we are with a little one whose moods, behaviors and energy can change on a whim, and very much depend on a nap.
Note that we are morning-oriented and the schedule reflects this.
Morning
7-7:30: Wake up / bathe
7:30-8:30: Breakfast at accommodation
9:00: Depart accommodation for the day
9:30: Park time / toddler to move their body and get tired, snack if needed
10:15: Depart park, toddler is sleepy, may opt for a morning nap; parents to walk around/ sightsee / adventure
Afternoon
12:30: Lunch
1:30: Park / toddler to move body
2:30-4ish Sightseeing until everyone is tired
Return to accommodation for toddler bath time & rest
Evening
6:00 Dinner time
7:00 Wind down / toddler self-development time / parents research, organize and plan for the next day
