Reading Time: 3 minutes

We split the trip into six month segments and refreshed our gear along the way.

About the trip:

Gear

In flight outfit

Eight in-flight essentials to bring on your next trip

Packing in-flight snacks

Packing cubes

Since our return from the trip we now exclusively use Eagle Creek packing cubes.

Here’s what clothing and toiletries look like packed their respective cubes.

Every day carry items

Toiletries

We purchase and share a full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash upon arrival.

Outwear

Tops

Bottoms

Jon lost a pair of board shorts along the way and we did not replace them.

Underwear

One of Jon’s go-to outfits. Note that the shoes featured here did not make it on the packing list.
Shoes may just be the single most important item you pack — they need to be comfortable, durable, and lightweight. The shoes shown above are nice looking but meet none of the aforementioned criteria.
