This walking tour of Polanco bring you to the area’s gems. It takes about an hour of non-stop, flat walking to complete the path. With stops for food, photos, museums, shopping and people watching in the park, plan to spend a full day in Polanco.
Begin at Chapultepec Park’s lake. The park, the largest city park in Mexico City, spans over 1,700-acre space and houses four museums (noted below*), botanical gardens, large lake and zoo. Stop off at the Museo Nacional de Antropología, the largest and most visited museum in Mexico, for views of Mesoamerican Art. Other museums in the park:
Museo Nacional de Historia*: Neo-classical architecture & murals by several important Mexican artists, including David Alfaro Siqueiros, and José Clemente Orozco
For a glimpse of up-and-coming Mexican designers, stop through LAGO DF.
Walk through the heart of Polanco in all the streets between Avenida Masarky and Lincoln Park, including Oscar Wilde, Julio Verne and Lafontaine. Churrería el Moro arguably offers the best churros in Mexico City. World-famous Polanco is located here (though reservations book out months in advance).
Stroll through Antara Fashion Hall, a multi-level open air promenade that offers shopping from high-end Mexican designers, boutiques and well-known brands.
Finish the walk at Soumaya Museum, Carlos Slim’s personal art collection is housed here and includes European works from Picasso, Renoir, Dali, Van Gogh and more.
